about

Track one is a composite recording from WNUR own mix and my edirol r-09 that I set on the table next to me while I performed in their studio.

the remaining tracks are isolation mixes of what I captured on the laptop during the live set. in the studio the laptop was amplified on through the Vox (top amp in photo). I dont think it did a great job of what was going on so I've gone back and made a few tracks using only these loops. Some minor editing and mixing was done in post.

"Rarely have I encountered a warmer, mellower but nonetheless dynamic opus that changes its form time and again, only to let its elements re-enter at later points." -- Bjorn Werkmann @ Ambient Exotica www.ambientexotica.com/ambrev182_cinchel_iev1/

"The loops created are haunting, ambient, deep, and will take your soul on a dreamscape journey. It’s melodic, loud and yet gentle, and beautiful." -- Nick Hadad @ Tuning in Obscure tuningintoobscure.wordpress.com/2013/03/20/the-massive-review-post-for-march-2013/

about

cinchel Chicago, Illinois

My main focus has been the interaction of sounds/notes with themselves. With only the use of delay, layering and distortion I attempt to make a lot of guitars no longer sound like guitars.I like to call this minimal dense music for that reason. ... more
